Preparing the next step.
Project progress
From feasibility to a future pilot
The project focuses on assessing the feasibility of a future Iron Fuel Boiler pilot at the Ennatuurlijk site in Bergen op Zoom.
The project includes the assessment of a 2–4 MW Iron Fuel Boiler, combined with the potential for 1–3 MW of additional electrification. The preferred configuration takes into account technical feasibility, infrastructure constraints and permitting requirements. The project aims to deliver:
-
A feasibility assessment of the proposed energy system.
-
A preferred system configuration for a future pilot.
-
A scalable concept design for a future Iron Fuel Boiler pilot.
-
An initial operational and financial pilot plan.
The insights gained will help establish the conditions for future deployment of Iron Fuel Technology in district heating and industrial applications.
How we make it happen
- Project management
Coordinate project activities, monitor progress and ensure effective project administration and reporting. - Knowledge sharing
Share insights and project outcomes with relevant stakeholders, supporting the development and future deployment of Iron Fuel Technology. - Pilot planning
Define the technical, operational and financial requirements for a future Iron Fuel Boiler pilot. - Engineering and system design
Develop a scalable concept design for a future Iron Fuel Boiler pilot, including technical specifications, safety considerations and integration with the site’s utilities.
