On Tuesday April 21, we had the honor of welcoming Her Majesty Queen Máxima to our Iron Fuel Production facility at Cleantech Park Arnhem, as part of her working visit focused on innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability within Dutch SMEs.

Together with MKB-Nederland chairman Jacco Vonhof, Queen Máxima visited several companies at the park, including RIFT, KRAFT architecten and PLANTICS. During the visit, we shared more about Iron Fuel Technology, the role it can play in decarbonising industrial heat, and how we are working towards bringing the technology into industrial practice.
“It was an inspiring and valuable meeting,” says RIFT CEO and co-founder Mark Verhagen. “We had the opportunity to demonstrate our technology and had an in-depth conversation, with thoughtful and engaged questions from Queen Máxima. For us as a start-up, it is special to be able to show what we are working on on a stage like this. It feels both like recognition and encouragement to keep building. At the same time, it underlines that the energy transition is something we do together, within a strong ecosystem like the one in Arnhem.”
And yes, everything was indeed extra tidy that day.
