Alpha One.
The Innovation Fund supports the development of Alpha One, RIFT's first commercial Iron Fuel Production plant at the Port of Antwerp. The project demonstrates Iron Fuel Technology at commercial scale by producing renewable Iron Fuel for industrial heat applications and establishing a circular supply chain in which iron oxide is collected, regenerated using renewable hydrogen and reused. By bringing production, logistics and industrial application together, Alpha One creates the foundation for large scale deployment of Iron Fuel Technology across Europe.

Industrial decarbonisation requires technologies that have been proven beyond pilot scale. While Iron Fuel Technology has demonstrated its technical potential, commercial deployment depends on proving that the technology can operate reliably as part of a complete industrial value chain under real-world conditions.
Alpha One addresses this challenge by constructing and operating a commercial Iron Fuel Production Plant in the Port of Antwerp. The project integrates renewable Iron Fuel Production, hydrogen-based regeneration and industrial heat applications into one circular energy system, demonstrating commercial operation at scale.

By demonstrating commercial viability, Alpha One reduces the barriers to wider adoption of Iron Fuel Technology. The project supports the decarbonisation of industrial heat, strengthens Europe's clean energy transition and provides a scalable blueprint for future Iron Fuel Production Plants.
